Ear Reality & HypeRate
‍The World’s First Heartbeat-Driven Audio Adventure

When HypeRate joined forces with EarReality and their interactive storytelling platform, TWIST Tales, the result was groundbreaking: a live horror experience powered by a streamer’s racing heart. Austrian content creator MikkiDiese became the protagonist of a branching narrative that adapted in real time to his biometric data—sometimes deciding his fate before he could even utter GuteDiese.

Native Integration with TWIST Tales

EarReality’s TWIST Tales platform now supports biometric-powered storytelling, thanks to seamless integration with HypeRate. Listeners can download the free HypeRate app, enter their HypeRate ID, and dive into immersive, heartbeat-driven adventures. With voice recognition baked into TWIST Tales, users can also speak their choices directly into the story.

A Captivating Horror Premiere

For its debut, we created a horror narrative that begins moments after a livestream ends. As MikkiDiese’s heart rate spiked, so did the story’s intensity—leading to chilling twists and unpredictable endings. HypeRate and EarReality collaborated on every detail: from co-writing the script to designing the atmospheric music, delivering an experience viewers wouldn’t forget.

Real-Time Biometric Influence

The story’s branching paths weren’t just driven by conscious choices but also by physiological reactions. A soaring heart rate pushed the plot into darker, more suspenseful territory—creating tension for both the streamer and the audience.

Results

1. Captivated Live Audience

Over 100+ concurrent Twitch viewers stayed glued to the stream, with audience numbers climbing throughout. Viewer feedback was overwhelmingly positive, demonstrating the power of heartbeat-driven storytelling to engage gaming and horror communities.

2. Authentic Marketing Potential

This success highlights how biometric-powered stories can seamlessly promote games, movies, or other entertainment products in a way that feels natural and immersive.

3. A New Era of Interactive Media

Combining conscious decisions with physiological data redefines traditional “choose-your-own-adventure” formats. This approach enables personalized storytelling across genres, paving the way for innovative experiences in the future.

How HypeRate Helped

HypeRate worked closely with EarReality to embed real-time heart rate data into the TWIST Tales platform, ensuring that every spike or dip in MikkiDiese’s pulse shaped the unfolding narrative instantly.

From scriptwriting and voice acting to creating an immersive score, HypeRate brought the chilling atmosphere to life—deepening emotional engagement with authentic biometric storytelling.
